Cartography & Map Design

Description:
This is a Graduate Course introducing students to principles of cartography through theoretical and applied approaches. Students will explore the history of cartography and various map projections, and will be exposed to methodologies and software used in creating thematic representations of the world. Topics include standards of map design, data acquisition and representation, and ethics in mapping. Recommended Prerequisites: Introduction to GIS (i.e. ABT 180, LDA 150, or equivalent)
